The Problem With Wikipedia

Hahaha I thought that was so cute and nerdy.

Ok as usual I woke up late today - I never used to. I was never late to school when I was in Singapore! What has happened to me. Bad habit I must get rid of. Let's not overanalyze here.

OMG I LOVE THOSE SMALL COMIC THINGS SO MUCH AHAHHAHAHAHAHA they're so cute.

I feel like a perv

So anyway I have spent a good deal of time flipping through pictures and editorials and ripping out pictures of Freja. And I feel like a perv. Her body is so perfect and she is skinny as hell. Like a little kid. Sometimes I feel that she's so young she shouldn't be exhibiting her body and that she shouldn't be working. Not yet anyway.

Oh before that can I post some pictures of her (Damn it I'm definitely a perv no doubt about it).

Fierce bitch

So unfair.

Who wants to be exhibited to the inhibited?

On another note, today I had the privilege of staying behind in school till late. Lo and behold! I stepped on the 8th floor of the library building for the first time and I visited my friend in the sewing lab. Fashion department = crazy. Hardworking fucks. I was so impressed and I have to admit that my view of them changed so much after that visit. How naive I was. I had always thought the fashion kids were just shopping freaks with.. Artsy inclinations. And stronger inclinations to exhibit their artsy inclinations. (I am starting to not make sense).

There my friend was.. Crouched over the Singer sewing machine. In a sewing lab. At god-knows-what-time. She was trying to thread the needle, and she tried and she tried and she tried again. When I offered to help, she just said she wanted to do it for herself. I felt quite taken aback at the sheer determination! I know it's kind of stupid and lame, but her small gesture really symbolizes her effort in school altogether. Then I stepped out of that sewing lab.. And then I saw a guy wearing some ugly Ed Hardy shit top to toe with True Religion jeans. He looked just like another stylo milo dude who doesn't care about school.. But he was there. Ironing. Ironing a size 8 A-line skirt. He ironed with such great concentration, smoothing out every crease on that skirt.

The walls outside the classroom had posters and magazine cut outs of graduates' work and undergrads too. There were just some pictures of Irina and Daul Kim modelling some of the garments in NY Fashion Week.. And I must say that if I didn't know better, I'd have thought Francisco Costa made some of the dresses for Calvin Klein Collection. Or Tsumori Chisato for another person's portfolio.

I'll really try to get my hands on some of the fantastic pictures soon, if anyone still bothers to read.

Oh no, I'm suddenly depressed because everyone is working their skinny asses off in school. I have got to try.

I. HAVE. GOT. TO. TRY.

Everything before the word 'but' is irrelevant

Inka and I had an adventure today. Well, not really. We went to Haight St and we shopped for CDs and a lot of other irrelevant shit. Case in point: Ben and Jerry's.

SO anyway call me chink or lianz or whatever but I found faye wong's album that my sister used to play when I was like, 6 or 7. And then she lost the album and I looked so hard for it it was kind of the anthem of my youth you know? I mean my childhood. A lady with a beautiful voice singing words of wisdom (I presume - I didn't and still don't understand Cantonese). Across the world, here, in Amoeba store on Haight district full of the peripatetic lot (here I am again trying to be politically correct). In the discount bin! $3.99!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

It is true. What you like, you'll find again.

And we saw Be Kind Rewind and Gondry has surpassed himself again! Well, no, I think Eternal Sunshine is still better. But the film left me profoundly touched and I started believing in human goodness again! For about 10 minutes or so. But me! Of all skeptics, me! I teared a little. The movie was dumbed down by Jack Black but it is not necessarily a bad thing. As far as my humble opinion goes, you guys have to see it.

I don't have much to say today. Except that I am going to master how to sing FW's Cantonese album despite the translation problems. I should be able to pick it up fairly quick. After all my dad's as loud as any self-respecting Cantonese should be, and I love mango pudding and mango sago (and they're desserts from Hong Kong)..
